November is a very creative month. Find some new ways to be inspired, and learn about an online writing challenge for young writers!
Welcome to iTeenWrite, the free site for kids and teen who want to write stories and poems. Today’s video talks about two fun and creative activities that occur every November. Apologies for the film quality, not our usual standard, but still fun.
Hi, I’m Charmaine Clancy and here’s a couple of November activities I adore:
Young Writers Program
Have you heard of NaNoWriMo? It stands for National Novel Writing Month and it takes place every November. NaNoWriMo was set up to challenge writers to finish 50,000 words in one month. It’s a lot of hard work, but very rewarding when you finish. Now there’a a program for young writers, the NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to write 50,000, for the Young Writers Program you can choose your own goal for the month. But it’s not just a challenge, there are free writing guides to download, lots of writing prompts and plenty of motivating videos.
You can find out more at: http://ywp.nanowrimo.org/
One clever couple had an idea to trick their kinds into believing their toy dinosaurs come to life at night, but only during the month of November. Admittedly, my kids are too old to be fooled by this challenge, so we all took part in setting up dinosaurs into different scenes. You can see the dino’s activities in the video.
Don’t forget to join up (it’s free!), you’ll never miss a session and we’ll have some cool free gifts coming up soon for members.
